1On June 6th, 949, the Preparatory Committee of the new China People's Political Consultative Conference decided to set up a primary selection committee for the national flag and national emblem, and published a solicitation announcement in People's Daily and other newspapers from July 4th to August 5th of the same year. During the first plenary session of China People's Political Consultative Conference in September, 1949, the primary selection committee selected 38 designs from the 30 12 received, and issued them to all delegates for discussion.
