Hu Xueyan (1823- 1885), a native of Jixi, Huizhou, Anhui, moved to Hangzhou, Zhejiang at the age of 13. In the 11th year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (186 1), the Taiping Army attacked Hangzhou, and Hu Xueyan transported arms and grain from Shanghai to support the Qing army, which was appreciated by Zuo. Later, he helped the left organization "Chang Jiejun" and founded Fuzhou Shipping Bureau.
With excellent business ability, Hu Xueyan used the official bank to set up private banks in Shanghai, and later set up "Fukang" bank semicolons all over the country, which was known as the "living god of wealth".
In the 9th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1883), the capital turnover failed due to local bureaucrats competing for withdrawals and extortion, and their industries were forced to sell at low prices, and their assets were halved. Finally, Hu Xueyan was dismissed, his property was confiscated and he died of depression.

In the 4th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1878), Hu Xueyan personally wrote the plaque "Never Cheat". It hangs high in the hall and is regarded as the motto of the shop. Hu Xueyan Commercial Road has become a business philosophy, which has been immersed in the brand connotation of Hu Qingyutang to form a complete humanistic system, and its core is "avoiding the heavy and neglecting the light".
Hu Xueyan's business ideas, such as "Yes is benevolence", "Truth is the only price" and "Customer is the source of life support", have gone beyond the scope of traditional Chinese medicine and will make the clearest historical interpretation for building an "honest" society.
