The Historical Evolution of Yaohai District
1April, 950, in accordance with the instructions of the administrative office of northern Anhui, the management authority of the station police station was assigned to the newly established Hefei station. The jurisdiction of this area starts from Hefei section of Huainan Railway in the east, reaches Dongchengmen in the old city of Hefei in the west, reaches Leidaying in the suburb in the south, and reaches Liudaying in front of Hefei old railway station in the north. The east-west span is 0.75km, and the north-south span is 2.5km, with an area of1.875km2. At the same time, five neighborhood committees in Wu Ge, Bashang, Chongde, Wu Shang and Hebei were renamed as Bangyi, Banger, Chuzhou Road, Chaohu Road and Yuhua Bridge respectively. 1960, the city launched the commune movement, and the district was reorganized into Dongshi District People's Commune on June 5 of that year (the district people's committee still exists. The People's Commune Committee of the Eastern District of the Communist Party of China was renamed as the People's Commune Committee of the Eastern District of the Communist Party of China. At present, the commune has eight branches including Lisan Street, Heping Road, Shengli Road, Dongfanghong, Huachong, Daxing Ji, Mingguang Road and Hong Guang. 1968 May 18, the People's Commune of Dongshi District was abolished and the People's Government of Dongshi District was established. In June of the same year, the 2 1 agricultural and vegetable brigade under the jurisdiction of this district was designated as a suburb. 1965 In July, according to the instructions of Anhui Provincial People's Committee on setting up sub-district offices and adding neighborhood committees, four sub-district committees were added in this district, namely Shengli Road, Lisan Street, Huachong Road and Heping Road, and the number of neighborhood committees increased from 23 before to 42. In addition, three factory committees, Hefei Meat Joint Factory, Hefei Paper Mill and Hefei Building Materials Experimental Factory, were added. At that time, the population of this area reached 85,600, which was 34.5 1 times higher than that of1and 95 1. 1966 After the Cultural Revolution began, in May 1967, the area was placed under the military management, and the China People's Liberation Army Hefei East Military Management Corps was established to take over the leadership of the area. 1968 On February 29th, the Military Management Group was changed to the Revolutionary Committee. The streets in the original jurisdiction were adjusted to 9 street committees. Namely: Qili Station, Heping Road, Datong Road, Railway Station, Shengli Road, Mingguang Road, Hong Guang, Lisan Street and Tongling Road. Neighborhood committees under the street are all run by the company. 1973, restore this setting and set up a neighborhood Committee. During this period, there were 48 neighborhood committees in this district. 1979, with the approval of Anhui Revolutionary Committee, the number of neighborhood committees in this area was expanded to 55. 1June, 980, the name and establishment of the people's government in this area were restored. The streets and neighborhood committees under its jurisdiction were all restored to their original names in March of that year. 1989, 10 neighborhood Committee and 7 1 family Committee were established in this district, and the first service center for military families in Anhui province was established. 1In May, 1999, the district adjusted the neighborhood committees under its jurisdiction to 32, and then in September, 2006, the family committees and neighborhood committees under its jurisdiction were integrated and transformed into 82 community neighborhood committees.

In March 2002, the division of Hefei City was adjusted, and the district was renamed Yaohai District of Hefei City. Yaohai District governs nine streets, namely Heping Road, Shengli Road, Datong Road, Tongling Road, Qili Station, Lisan Street, Station, Mingguang Road and Hong Guang. From the original suburbs, it is divided into East 1 township, Qilitang and Daxing towns, and Changhuai and Miaofang streets. From the original suburbs, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Banqiao and Wangchengdian in Xinghua Town, and the area east of Banqiao River was under the jurisdiction of Qilitang Town. From Feidong County to Modian Township (located in the west of Feidong County, bordering the former suburbs of Hefei City, with an area of nearly 50 square kilometers and a population of 26,000); Eight villages of Sanhe, Liuyaying, Youfang, Dapeng, Luogang, Magang, Wang Gang and Shicheng under the jurisdiction of long gang zhen in Feidong County, and two neighborhood committees of Xinzhan and Dadian were placed under the jurisdiction of Daxing Town (Note: In the process of handover, in view of the important influence of Longgang Development Zone in the handover area on Feidong County's economy, Yaohai District was adjusted to govern Chengdong and Modian townships at the request of Feidong County Party Committee and county government through coordination of municipal party committee and municipal government. Area 142.90 km2, population of 365,300, including non-agricultural population of 288,200.

In 2004, Chengdong Sub-district Office was established in Chengdong Town. By the end of 2004, Yaohai District had 12 streets, 2 towns and 1 towns (including Changhuai Street, Miaofang Street and Qilitang Town under the jurisdiction of Xinzhan Development Zone).

In 2005, Huachong Community and Dong Qi Community in Chengdong Street were placed under the jurisdiction of Tongling Road Street and Qilizhan Street respectively, and included in He Yu Road Community in Datong Road Street and Dawangmiao Community in Mingguang Road Street. Tongling Road Street Lai 'an Road Community and Tianchang Road Community are under the jurisdiction of Lisan Street Street; Hexian Community and Hongxing Village Community in the station street are under the jurisdiction of the new station experimental area, and the villagers' group of Cang Zhao Square in Huaijie Street, the head of the new station experimental area, is under the jurisdiction of the station street (temporarily hosted by the new station); The residents' group of No.536 Courtyard, Gate 4, Dayaowan Community, Shengli Road Street is under the jurisdiction of Station Street, and the residents' group of Tongling Village, Datong Road Street is under the jurisdiction of Heping Road Street. By the end of 2005, Yaohai District has been demarcated, which borders Feidong County in the east, Hefei River in the west and south, and Changfeng County in the north, with a total area of 142.9 square kilometers, covering 13 streets and 2 towns with a population of 383,000. Among them, the non-agricultural population is 288,300, accounting for 75.27% of the total population.
