According to legend, in the early Ming Dynasty, there were more than 30 sandbars in Jingjiang County, with flat terrain, fertile soil and reeds. Many rich gentry occupied sandbars, developed beaches and enclosed fields, which attracted many poor and good people in Taixing, Rugao, Yangzhong and Haimen to rent fields and build houses and multiply, with about 2,500 households.
At that time, some sandbars were connected with Rugao and Taixing, and some sandbars were in the Yangtze River. Because of the scattered living, facing each other across the river, the traffic is inconvenient and there is little contact. Bandits in the Yangtze River often go to sandbars to harass and plunder property, and the people are restless. When Wu Liang, the magistrate of Jiangyin, learned of the people's voice, he sent his subordinate General Sha Yuan De to lead 100 soldiers stationed in Matosha to encircle bandits and maintain public order. After General Sha arrived in Matosha, he went to the sandbar one by one by boat, and went door to door to listen to his opinions. Each household is equipped with knives, sticks and spears, and ten households are a group, and they take turns to keep watch at night. When the robbers were found, they beat gongs and drums. He also divided his soldiers into larger sandbars, where soldiers and people worked together to defend against bandits. After two years of solid work, General Sha dealt a great blow to Matuosha, and the bandits dared not act rashly. People live and work in peace and contentment, and production develops rapidly. Even the poor people in the mountainous areas in the south of the Yangtze River moved to Matosha and lived a quiet life.
General Sha did practical things for Matosha people, lived and became rich, and was deeply loved by the people. After the death of General Sha, people did not forget his achievements, raised funds to build the General Hall and shaped the portrait. In the north of Jujiadai, Jinxing Village, Shengci Town, there was once a short man named Pai Lou Dai. There are many anecdotes here, such as Sanduo Bridge, Jiulonggou, Archway, Mansion, Yangzhai and Yinzhai. These are miracles unheard of by contemporary people. Today, the original archway is located on a flat land, with hundreds of acres of fertile land, green wheat seedlings and golden cauliflower. No one in history can think of its rich connotation.
I do not know how many years ago, there was a great man in Jingjiang. His name is Liu, and his name cannot be verified. He was appointed governor of seven provinces by the emperor. One year, when Liu Xun returned to his hometown, he asked Yin and Yang teachers to find a treasure trove of geomantic omen and build a patrol house. Master Yin and Yang found this land and said it was a turtle land, with the glans facing south and the tail facing north. It's a thousand-year-old treasure. Liu is building a big building, and soon, a magnificent mansion has been successfully built. If nothing else, say it's the stone pillar of the gate, and each pillar must be folded by two people to surround it. As thick as a square table, the stone pillar is eight feet high and has four pillars. This is what people later called the archway, and the grandeur of the mansion building can be seen.
In order to celebrate the completion of the patrol room, the Liu family invited a troupe to sing at home for several months. Because the troupe lives in the Liu family, it knows the Liu family like the back of its hand. Who knows these players are up to no good? One night, they took away all the treasures of the Liu family, ran away, and set fire to the patrol house, leaving only a stone tablet building. It was not until 1958 that this archway was cut down and used for other purposes in order to repair several water conservancy facilities in the village. Eleven Dai people in Xinsheng Village of Shengci Town are not named after eleven surnames or eleven fields.
According to legend, a long time ago, there was a Jade Emperor Hall near this cave, where eleven monks lived. In order to pull food and carry things, the monks kept a donkey. One night, the donkey was stolen by a thief. The abbot in charge of Buddhism in the temple led the monks to make unannounced visits and look for them in all directions. Finally, I found a donkey skin in a shop. It looks like a donkey in the temple. After the clue provided by the owner, the thief who killed the donkey was caught in a charity field three miles away.
The abbot pointed to the thief and said, "We become monks and do good deeds, and never kill anything, but you stole the donkey from the temple and killed it!" " ! Amitabha! The thief said arrogantly: eat the donkey meat in the temple. What can you do? We'll kill you bald donkeys!
The abbot couldn't. He was so angry that he had to sue the county government for judgment.
After receiving the complaint, the county magistrate quickly sent the thief to the court and asked: Which township and village do you live in?
The thief replied: live in fertile land.
After hearing this, the county magistrate patted the gavel and shouted, How dare you! People in the field of charity should do good deeds. Why did you steal and kill the abbot's donkey? Command twenty boards in the classroom, beat the thief to pieces, put him in prison, and sentence him to two sentences: First, change the charity field to eleven parties, so that the descendants of the thief will never forget to steal and kill monks and donkeys; The second is to buy a donkey and give it to the abbot within three days before the thief can put it home.
Other thieves in the charity field raised money that night, bought a donkey and sent it to the Jade Emperor's Hall, and gave it to the abbot, thus ending the lawsuit.
The lawsuit soon spread throughout the county. Because the monk's alms, commonly known as eating ten noodles, are aboveboard. Eating eleven noodles is not keeping one's duty and living by stealing. Up to now, there are still some elderly farmers who scold their children for not worrying about farming and being idle: you go and eat eleven parties! The fifth group of Jinxing Village in Shengci Town is called Zhujiajian Eight Generations. Take a closer look. In addition to a surname Liu and a surname Wu who moved in before and after liberation, there are more than 30 families in Zhujiajian Eight Dynasties. All the others are surnamed Lu, and none of them is surnamed Zhu. If this Dai is called Lujiadai, it is still worthy of the name. Besides, there is no dam in the east and west, and there is no dam in the north and south. Where can I find Zhujiaba? Even named Zhujiaba, passed down from generation to generation. What is the reason?
It turned out that after the establishment of Jingjiang County, there was only one avenue on the bank of Tuanbei River in half the counties in the west of Jingjiang. If people from the west want to go to the city for business or business, or city people and city officials want to come to the west, they must pass this avenue. Therefore, this avenue has become the main road of east-west traffic in western Jingjiang.
When this avenue passes through other ports, there are bridges, either wooden bridges or stone bridges. It's just that there is no bridge but an earth dam when passing through Port Will. There is a family living next to the earth dam. The head of the family is Zhu. This is the only Zhujiajian on the roadside dozens of miles east and west. At that time, the pedestrians on this avenue were already busy and endless. But there were no bicycles and tricycles at that time, let alone motorcycles and cars. Only people are walking, sometimes pushing carts, sedan chairs, and occasionally donkey carts and carriages. As we all know, it is difficult to walk. Most people who walk always want to rest their feet. This is also human nature. Therefore, people surnamed Zhu on this roadside often borrow stools to rest and continue every day, especially in summer. Although Zhujiajian is in an ordinary family, there are three cold tile houses and two thatched houses. But the head of the family is a kind and helpful person. Seeing that there are many people resting every day, he simply set up a big shade shed in front of the door, brought his own table and bench, and added things like tea buckets to give people who want to rest a more comfortable place to rest. In this way, more people come here to rest every day. Not only do they have stools, tables and thirsty mouths, but they can also drink some water. There are many long-distance travelers, even planned in advance, who have to drive to Zhujiaba all morning to ask for tips, bring dry food, have lunch with boiled water in Zhujiaba, and then go to town. In this way, Zhujiajian Island brought convenience to people, and Zhujiaba's reputation spread. Villages near Jia Zhu naturally became the dam of Zhujiaba.
Later, probably because a highway (namely Jiangping Highway) was built, the highway had to pass through the Zhujiajian homestead, and the Zhujiajian family moved to another place. The highway built a foreign bridge on the port of Weill, and the original earth dam was dug up, and the Zhujiajian Island people moved away, and the earth dam no longer existed. However, Zhujiaba is very famous and has existed ever since.
