History of Thai Eastern Airlines
Thai Eastern Airlines is the first international charter operator in Asia. Along with its subsidiary Cambodia Airlines, it also cooperates with other airlines, including Finnair, Lufthansa and Lithuanian International Airlines. It also assists the United Nations International Organization for Migration in its plan to transport refugees around the world, including Kosovars and East Timorese, and also transports peacekeeping troops around the world to carry out their tasks. Thai Eastern Airlines planes are also used to transport Muslim pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage. Thailand Eastern Airlines and its subsidiaries operate eight Boeing 747s, four Boeing 767s, three Boeing 737-300s, two Boeing 737-400s and four McDonnell Douglas MD-80s.
