The bus station is located in the southeast of the intersection of Yuejin Road and National Highway 204 in Rucheng Town, Rugao City, covering an area of 6900M2. Founded in June 1949, it was called "Xinru Bus Station" at that time. 1950, renamed as "Rugao Bus Station of Subei Automobile Transportation Company". 1979 Rugao bus station handed over the property right of people, money and property to Nantong. Now it is a second-class unit of Nantong Automobile Transportation Industry Group Co., Ltd., a national second-class enterprise.
There are 420 employees in the whole station, with passenger and freight transport vehicles 122, including 82 medium and high-grade buses. There are more than 60 operating lines, with 385 shifts (times) every day. Mainly engaged in the passenger transport business from Rugao to large and medium-sized cities in East China and North China, urban public transport and rural public transport operations, as well as LTL, railway combined transport, freight forwarding and vehicle freight services in more than 20 provinces and cities across the country. There are 17 self-management and agency stations in this city. Jianggao Auto Repair Factory affiliated to the Central Station is a secondary auto repair enterprise.
The ticket office building and the newly renovated waiting hall, which were rebuilt with an investment of 3 million yuan, were put into use before the Spring Festival in 2003. First-class facilities, first-class service, welcome guests from all directions with a smile.
The main station was awarded the title of civilized unit of the group company in 2002, with the goal of creating "civilized unit" and "provincial civilized bus station" in Nantong.
