Because Luanzhou was called Luanxian in ancient times, it was later renamed Luanzhou. Luanzhou City is directly under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province, and Tangshan City is in charge. It is located in the north of Hebei Province, on the west bank of Luanhe River, with a total area of1220km from Beijing in the northwest, Tianjin 135km in the southwest, Tangshan in the west and Qinhuangdao in the east.

Luanzhou City is located in the Luanhe River, Shahe River and Douhe River basins, with nine large rivers in the territory. Among them, Luanhe River, Shahe River and Guanhe River are transit rivers, Henghe River, Upstream River, Longwan River, Gouniao River, Yuejiahe River and Little qinglong river River originated in China, while Luanhe River, Henghe River, Shahe River, Guanhe River and Longwan River belong to perennial rivers. The other four rivers belong to seasonal rivers, and there is basically no basic flow except flood discharge in flood season.

Luanhe River is a big river in Luanzhou City. It enters from the junction of Gucun North and Gan 'an County in Youzha Town, Luanzhou City, flows through Youzha Town, Luanzhou Town and Xiangxuan Town, and enters Luannan County at the south exit of Shizhuang Village in Xiangxuan Town.
