Hengli town is a subtropical monsoon climate zone with obvious monsoon and mild climate. Hengli is the origin and main producing area of plum vegetables, with a planting area of10.8 million mu and an annual total output of 40,000 tons. In 2006, Hengli was awarded the title of "Professional Town of Plum Vegetables" by Guangdong Province, and the cultivation of Plum Vegetables was certified as a national pollution-free vegetable, and was awarded the title of "Hometown of Plum Vegetables" by the State Council. In 2007, eggplant planting was awarded the certification of "10,000 mu pollution-free production base" by the Provincial Department of Agriculture.
