Taiyuan, formerly known as Jinyang, was founded in 497 BC and has a history of more than 2,500 years. In 665 and 438+07, Li Yuan and Li Shimin rose from Jinyang to overthrow the Sui Dynasty, and named Jinyang "the capital of the North" and "Beijing". During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the later Tang Dynasty, the later Jin Dynasty, the later Han Dynasty and the northern Han Dynasty were originally national capitals or accompanying capitals.
In Song Dynasty, Jinyang was called "Dragon City". People think that Zhoushan is the "Dragon Horn", Longshan and Tianlong Mountain are the "Dragon Tail", and Jinyang is located in the center of the dragon, including the "Long Mai". Because of this, Jinyang City often produces emperors, such as Gao Huan in the Northern Qi Dynasty, Li Yuan in Tang Gaozu, Li in the Later Tang Dynasty, Shi Jingtang in the Later Jin Dynasty and Liu Zhiyuan in the Later Han Dynasty.
Long Mai's statement seems nonsense to us today, but the ancient feudal rulers believed it very much, especially the establishment of the Song Dynasty was not so aboveboard. It was Zhao Kuangyin and his younger brother Zhao Guangyi who launched a rebellion in Chen Qiao, joined the yellow robe-wearing team and usurped the throne of the Zhou Emperor. The rulers of the Song Dynasty were afraid that someone in Jinyang, the "Dragon City", would rise up and compete with them for the world.
In 979, in the fourth year of Taiping and Xingguo, Song Taizong and Zhao Guangyi attacked the Northern Han Dynasty, and Liu Jiyuan, the owner of the Northern Han Dynasty, had to leave the city to surrender. Zhao Guangyi thought that "the tree fell apart", the Northern Han Dynasty had surrendered, and the people in Taiyuan were disobedient. But what he didn't expect was that the people in Taiyuan used bricks and tiles as weapons, and by virtue of their geographical advantages, they fought hard with Song Jun, causing a lot of casualties and great anger to Song Jun. He decided that Taiyuan was the "Dragon City" where the real Dragon Emperor was born, and Zhoushan was the Dragon Horn, so he ordered the burning of the ancient city of Taiyuan and ordered people to level the top of Zhoushan and pull out the Dragon Horn. That's not all. He also led people to pour water into the city, and the people were homeless and living in dire straits.
In the seventh year of Song Taiping's rejuvenation, Zhao Guangyi ordered the reconstruction of the new Taiyuan City, which is today's Taiyuan City, on the basis of Tang Ming Town. In order to define "Long Mai", the new Taiyuan City only built T-shaped street, but did not build a cross road. After that, there was no emperor in Taiyuan. Of course, this has nothing to do with Long Mai.
Before the Song Dynasty, major cities in Taiyuan occupied a decisive position in both military and economic fields. However, in the Song Dynasty, the economy moved south and Taiyuan gradually declined. Today, Taiyuan is barely a second-tier city, but its development is limited by geographical location, brain drain, weak industrial structure and other factors. I hope Taiyuan will get better and better and regain its former "Dragon City" style!
