Shanxi, located in North China, is rich in mineral resources. There are 120 kinds of minerals found, and the reserves of various mineral resources rank first in China. It can be said that Shanxi is a major energy province in China. Shanxi is known as "China Ancient Architecture Art Museum". The well-preserved ancient buildings before Song and Jin Dynasties account for more than 70% of China, including Pingyao Ancient City, Jiezhou Guandi Temple, Qiao Family Courtyard and many other scenic spots. Next, I will introduce you to some tourist attractions in a certain district of Shanxi. This district is Taigu District, formerly Taigu County, which belongs to Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province.

The first place is Wubian Temple, which is located in the southwest corner of Taigu County. Founded in Taishi eight years in the Western Jin Dynasty, it has a long history. There are seven white pagodas in the temple, but there are nine in it, which are more than 40 meters high. In addition to the White Pagoda, there are also buildings in the temple, such as the mountain gate, the inverted stage, the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Major Hall, the Sacrifice Hall, and the Tibetan Scripture Building. When you go to Wubian Temple, you can see not only ancient buildings, but also beautiful scenery, lush trees, birds and flowers, and fish ponds.

The second place is Cao Family Courtyard, also known as Sanduotang, which is the residence of Cao Shi family of Shanxi merchants in Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a history of more than 400 years. Cao Family Courtyard is a traditional residence with Ming and Qing styles. There are 274 existing houses, and the overall layout is "longevity" from a distance. The main attractions are Sanduotang, Cao Shi family business history, Ming and Qing furniture exhibition, porcelain exhibition, treasure hall, big screen and so on, which can further understand the culture of Shanxi merchants.

The third place is the Drum Tower, which is a representative symbol of Taigu. It is a landmark building and is known as the "Phoenix Eye". It is reported that Taigu Drum Tower was built in 16 15. It is a two-story pavilion-like wooden building with triple eaves. The whole drum tower is 20 meters high and has four criss-crossing holes, which are the four directions leading to the county seat. Historically, Taigu Drum Tower has been repaired many times.

The fourth place is the former residence of Kong Xiangxi politician, banker and businessman Kong Xiangxi. Kong Xiangxi's former residence is located in the courtyard of Taigu Normal School on the west side of Wubian Temple in Taigu City. This building is the largest and most well-preserved building in Taigu City, with the architectural style of the middle Qing Dynasty. This house was once the former residence of Meng Guangyu, a gentry of Taigu, and was bought by Kong Xiangxi at 1930. There are still main courtyard, kitchen courtyard, study courtyard, stage courtyard, Mozhuang courtyard, West Garden and some damaged East Gardens.
