Baodi has a long history. According to research, as early as the Neolithic Age, human beings lived, multiplied and lived here. In the long historical years, the ownership of this place changed frequently until the county was established in the reign of Jin Dading (AD 65438+70s).
During the Xia and Shang Dynasties (about 2 1 century BC to1century BC), the provinces merged with Hebei and were placed in Jizhou. Qin dynasty (22 BC1to 206 BC) was divided into 46 counties, still called Yuyang. During the Three Kingdoms period (220-265), this place was the territory of Cao Wei. During the Sui Dynasty (58 1-6 18), this place belonged to Jinjun, Jizhou. In the early Tang Dynasty (6 18-907), "Gaozu changed the county into a state".
Yongnu County was established in the Western Han Dynasty. In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), it was renamed Wuqing County. In the first year of Liao Huitong (938), Wuqing, Shandong, Sanhe and other counties were combined to establish Xianghe County. In the 12th year of Jin Dading (1 172), Xianghe County was established. According to the meaning of "beautiful as Beijing" in the Book of Songs, it was named Baodi County. In the third year of Cheng 'an (1 198), it was promoted to Yingzhou, and in the fourth year of Taihe (1204), it was abolished as a county.
On the eve of the founding of New China, from1August 1949, Baodi County belonged to Tianjin, Hebei Province, and from1June 1958, it was changed to Tangshan, Hebei Province. In June of the same year, 1 1960 merged with Xianghe County, and it was still called Baodi County.
