The history and culture of Shanmendong
During the Taihe period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (366 -37 1), Mr. Yi lived in seclusion in Ziyun Cave before developing the mountain gate. Later, people called the Lingdong Cave "the Stone Chamber of the stockade" and carved stones to commemorate it. In Zhenyuan period of Tang Dynasty (785 -805), a temple was built beside the cave, and in Song Zhiping period (1064-1067), it was named "Lingyan Temple". Since then, the temple incense has flourished and lasted for a long time, and scholars have followed suit, chanting more loudly. Zhou Youshi, a poet, "There is a door in the world, but there is no door in the world", which is praised by later generations. Up to now, the inscriptions such as "immortal rock wall" and "Buddha spirit rock" on the stone wall are still faintly discernible.
