Activity significance

History of "National Patriotic Health Campaign Month" When it comes to patriotic health campaigns, elderly people will tell you emotionally about the past when the whole people mobilized to carry out health eradication. Patriotic health movement has a long history and special historical background, which was once put forward as a political task.

Kill fleas, rodents and other vector insects. On July 10, People's Daily published an editorial entitled "Further Developing Patriotic Health Campaign", pointing out that patriotic health campaign is a major political task.

1On September 20th, 957, the Third Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China further clarified the tasks and purposes of the patriotic health campaign: "Eliminate the four evils, stress hygiene, eliminate diseases, invigorate the spirit, change customs, and transform the country."

1958 February 14, People's Daily published an editorial, pointing out that the patriotic health campaign centered on eliminating the "four pests" is to popularize health knowledge, get rid of superstitions, eliminate various diseases and their causes and improve people's health level through mass movements. Under the leadership of the party and the government, patriotic health campaigns have been vigorously carried out throughout the country, and the people have responded positively and made great achievements.

During the ten-year turmoil, the patriotic health movement suffered setbacks. After the unrest, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council decided to reorganize the Central patriotic health campaign committee in April 1978, and issued the Notice on Persisting in Carrying out Patriotic Health Campaign. The notice pointed out that the patriotic health campaign is a profound revolution to change customs and transform the country.

In August of the same year, the Central Patriotic Health Association held a national patriotic health campaign on-site exchange meeting in Yantai, Shandong Province. The meeting pointed out that the task of the patriotic health campaign in the new era is to improve urban environmental sanitation, control rural water and feces, and treat both the symptoms and root causes.

April 2023 is the 35th patriotic health month. The National Ivy Office, the Central Civilization Office and the Healthy China Action Promotion Office recently issued a notice and decided to jointly carry out the 35th Patriotic Health Month. The theme of this year's event is "Livable beautiful homeland, Healthy New Life".
