The Historical Evolution of Eryuan
Eryuan was called "wave poverty" in ancient times. According to historical records, from the Western Han Dynasty to the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Eryuan area was Yu Ye County. The first year of Linde in the Tang Dynasty (664) was formally established, and the Song Dynasty belonged to Dali, which was also the jurisdiction of Dali in Jin Yong's novel "Tianlong Babu". It was not until 19 12 that Deng Chuanfu was renamed Deng Chuan County and Langqiong County was renamed Eryuan County, meaning the birthplace of Erhai Lake.

Eryuan is known as the hometown of hot springs, and Yuhu Town, the county seat, is known as the "hot water city". There are many hot springs in the city, and the hot water flows vertically along the street canal. The hot air in winter and spring is fascinating. There is a poem praising: "Three-step hot spring and four-step soup, steaming fog like a fairyland". Among many hot springs, the Palace Hot Spring has the largest flow. Located in front of the Confucian Temple, it has large water output and high temperature. It has been built into a swimming pool and an advanced double bathroom. Long warm water flows in the pool all the year round, and it is crystal clear. There are always people who come here to fetch water and take a bath.

Among the scenery in Canger, the most beautiful one should be the double corridor. Shuanglang is located in the southeast of Eryuan County, on the east bank of Erhai Lake, above the "Lotus Song" and "Rockfall Song". The beautiful Jinsuo Island and Yuji Island float like a pair of "mandarin ducks" in the green Erhai Lake, which constitutes the special geographical environment and the origin of the name of Shuanglang. The double corridors bear the castle peak, the door is near Erhai Lake, near Jizu Mountain and overlooking Cangshan Mountain. It not only has the advantages of fishing grounds, but also has the wonders of "romantic scenery", so it enjoys the reputation of "Canger scenery with double corridors".

Jinsuo Island is the largest of the three islands in Canger. Surrounded by water on all sides, it is about 250 meters above the water surface, about 800 meters long from north to south and about 100 meters wide from east to west. Low in the middle and high in the north and south, it looks like a weaving shuttle, hence the name Jinsuo Island. According to Schumann, King Nanzhao once built a Summer Palace on the island, so he can still see some broken bricks and tiles. From Jinsuo Island to the north 10 km, it is a beautiful island Yuji Island, with an altitude of only about 4 meters. The whole island is like a huge rock, standing in the water, just like flying from the sky. Guanyin Pavilion is also built on the island, so it is also called "Little Putuo".

The natural scenery of Jinsuo Yuji Island is the best in Erhai Lake. Yang Shen, the champion of Yunnan in the Ming Dynasty, and Li Yuanyang, a scholar from Dali, traveled together to Cangshan Erhai Lake and visited two islands. Yang Shen wrote "The Journey of Canglang", and Li Yuanyang wrote "Born like a golden shuttle, trying to weave waves on the silver water; A coral tree is hidden in the bottom of the sea, and the clear light meets the moth in the moon at night. Many films such as Five Golden Flowers have also been filmed here.
