Why are Japanese boys' school uniforms the same as Chinese tunic suit?
When Sun Yat-sen created the tunic suit, he borrowed from the official uniform style of the Japanese Army Academy. Zhongshan suit has made some improvements in Japanese school uniforms, so it is normal for them to be similar.

During the Meiji Restoration in Japan, students' uniforms were designed in a unified way. The boys adopted the style of sergeant's uniform of Lu Haijun Military Academy, while the girls adopted the style of navy sailor's uniform to highlight their obedience to men.

Japanese school uniforms are also called lapels, which are still different from Chinese tunic suits. In Japan, there are at most two pockets, and the collars are very close, and you can hardly see the Adam's apple. There are various styles of China Zhongshan suit, including oblique collar and vertical collar (but the collar is far from the collar).

Extended data

Collar is the most common school uniform for Japanese boys. At present, 70% of junior high schools adopt black "stand-up collar" uniforms, and about 20% of colleges and universities adopt black "stand-up collar" uniforms. Western-style school uniforms were first tried out in government universities, and the earliest introduction of western-style school uniforms was the University of Industry and Information Technology (the predecessor of the Department of Engineering of the University of Tokyo). 1873 was distributed by the school as a dark blue tunic suit similar to western-style military uniforms, which became the blueprint of Japanese school uniforms.

Academy (the official school set up in the old Imperial Palace) took the lead in designating boys' uniforms in the 12th year of Meiji (1879). Seven years later, Imperial University of Tokyo (Tokyo University) also designated Shoujin as a school uniform, and other middle schools or universities followed suit. Therefore, the history of "Shou Jin" is longer than that of "Sailor Fu", which has been 100 years. Later, it became the blueprint of Zhongshan suit.
