Georgia is a low-key version of Ukraine, and it can also be said to be its successor. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian people have not learned from the past. After Georgia's independence, it firmly supported the western camp, especially spared no effort to develop relations with the United States, hoping to resist Russian infiltration. For economic and military reasons, the United States has provided Georgia with a lot of economic and military assistance and called on NATO to accept it as a member. With the support of the United States, Georgia participated in many NATO meetings and actively participated in NATO peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan. It may soon realize its dream of joining NATO. On the economic front, Georgia abandoned the planned economic system after independence, and carried out economic reforms with the assistance and guidance of international organizations, and achieved some positive results.
In addition, Georgia is rich in oil and has good conditions for economic development. However, internal and external factors such as long-term war, corruption and public security disorder have disrupted Georgia's economic development process, making it almost impossible for it to get rid of poverty after nearly 30 years of independence. According to the statistics of the World Bank, the per capita annual income of Georgia in 20 18 was only 4,345 dollars, less than half of that of China. Today, half of Georgia's population still lives below the poverty line, the unemployment rate is as high as 13.8%, and the average minimum household income is only 269.4 lari (about 164.3 USD). Due to economic backwardness, the country's social welfare undertakings are backward.
As far as education is concerned, the number of teachers and students in universities has dropped sharply in recent years. The current situation is worrying. 1992 since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Georgia have developed well, and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education, culture and tourism has progressed smoothly. Georgia attaches great importance to China's status as a great power and firmly adheres to the one-China policy, which has won the appreciation of China. We have every reason to believe that the friendly relations between China and Georgia will be further strengthened on the premise of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
