In the 24th year of Qing Qianlong, Chaozhou Bayi Guild Hall (Haiyang, Jieyang, Chaoyang, Raoping, Chenghai, Huilai, Fengshun and Puning) was established in Yangshuo Road, Shanghai. In the first year of Daoguang, Chaoshan and Chaohai gangs were sent from Daoguang.

In the first year of Daoguang reign of Qing Dynasty (1882), merchants from Jieyang, Puning and Fengshun counties in Guangdong set up Jiepufeng Guild Hall from Chaozhou Guild Hall, which was built to show the strength of wealthy businessmen in the three counties. The guild hall covers an area of 360 square meters, and the materials used are very elegant.

In the 19th year of Qing Daoguang, Chaoyang and Huilai shipbuilders built Tide Club halls in two other counties outside Shanghai. The original Tide Club was formally divided into three business groups: Jiepufeng, Pinghai and Tide Club. Among them, Pinghai Gang is a chamber of commerce composed of shippers in Haiyang, Chenghai and Raoping counties.

The original name of Jiebei Peak Gang was Chaoshan Gang (from the first year of Daoguang to the nineteenth year of Daoguang). Because all counties in Chaozhou are coastal except the boundary pillar peak, the boundary pillar peak gang is called Chaoshan gang. Now in Chaoshan area, the fellow villagers' associations outside are sometimes called Chaoshan Gang, which shows that Chaoshan Gang was once very United and famous in history.

Now the Chaoshan Association outside is often called Chaoshan Gang. Another reason is that "Chaoshan" and "Chaoshan" are homophonic, so when Chaoshan people say this word, they don't pay attention to pronunciation at all, and it is easy to mispronounce the word "Shantou" as "mountain". But tracing back to the source, there is no "gang" in Chaoshan history, but there is a "gang" in Chaoshan, so if Chaoshan is called "gang" now, it can be said that it has inherited the Chaoshan gang as a whole.

But in fact, foreign Chaoshan societies are generally called Chaozhou Club, not Chaoshan Club, which is equivalent to returning to the saying of "Chaozhou Gang" before the first year of Daoguang, including Jiepu Feng, Pinghai and Chaohui Club.

Look at how close Hongyang, the county seat of Old Puning, is to Jieyang Rongcheng. This is why we jointly established the "Jiepufeng" Association with Jieyang. But I also want to tell you that Jieyang has Chaoyang besides Chaoyang. Chaoyang and Puning are closely related, but Puning's relationship with Huilai in the past was not as good as Chaoyang and Jieyang.

Now some Puning people look down on Jieyang because since Jieyang was upgraded to a prefecture-level city, Puning's economy has been suppressed by Jieyang and cannot develop. In addition, Puning administrative center has moved to quicksand, so it is farther and farther away from Jieyang.

However, there is still hope for the future reunification of the two places. The administrative center of Jieyang prefecture-level city can be moved to Hongyang, the old county town of Puning, because the hinterland of Jieyang prefecture-level city is in the west and Hongyang area is closer to the center. Jieyang prefecture-level city has planned to build a new administrative center in Hongyang. Hongyang and Jiexi Mianhu will be merged into a cotton planting area, and the administrative center of the cotton planting area is in Hongyang Town. At the same time, the administrative center of Jieyang prefecture-level city has also moved to Hongyang town.

The cotton planting area includes eight towns: Hongyang, Mianhu, Dongyuan, Fengjiang, Chigang, Nanxi, Guangtaihe and Daba.

Construction of quicksand area in central Puning, including quicksand, pond tail, prairie fire, Da Nanshan and Meitang; Including Kirin, Nanjing, Zhanlong, Military Department and Xiajiashan;

A Meilin District will be built in the west of Puning, including Meilin, Yunluo, Lihu, Shipai Overseas Chinese District, Gaopu, Tunxi, Daping Farm, Daping, Pu Chuan, Maanshan Farm and Dachi Farm.
