The role of individuals in historical development can be divided into ordinary individuals and historical figures. Ordinary individuals refer to everyone who has played a certain role in the process of social development, and their sum constitutes the people who create history and their activities. Historical figures refer to people who play a major role in the process of social development. Historical figures can be divided into outstanding historical figures and reactionary historical figures according to their roles in historical development. An outstanding person refers to a person who represents advanced production methods. Historical figures who reflect the requirements of advanced classes, strata and people and promote social development. Reactionary figures refer to historical figures who represent backward modes of production, move against the historical trend and hinder social development. Historical figures, especially outstanding figures, can play a special role in the process of social development because they are the initiators and advocates of historical tasks and the parties and leaders of historical events. They are the influencers of the historical process. Although historical figures can accelerate or delay the process of historical development by influencing or even determining historical events, no matter how big their role is in the process of social development, they can't change the general trend of historical development or replace the historical role of the people.
Individualism is manifested in two aspects. First, in the working relationship, it is manifested in everything from personal will, self-righteousness, self-esteem, personal opinion first, laissez-faire, personal heroism and so on. Second, in the relationship between people's interests, personal interests are above everything else, and the interests of the party and the people are put aside.
Individualism is essentially the ideology of small producers. From the perspective of western individualism, individualism is a kind of resistance to group life and a kind of liberation of feudal hierarchical society and its unequal collectivism. Affirmed personal conscience and judgment, and highlighted his own personality. Individualism first emphasizes individual autonomy, advocates self-reliance, self-reliance, opposes complaining and obeying others, and advocates that individuals have the rational ability to achieve their careers.
Of course, the extreme development of individualism makes individualism have negative effects in modern society. Therefore, in real life, we can't avoid the disadvantages of individualism under imperfect conditions: excessive individualism and excessive publicity of personality destroy reasonable moral concepts, leading people to lack faith, ignore shame and pursue pleasure.
