Brief introduction of Wuling town
Wuling Town is a national civilized village, a national ecological town, a national town with beautiful environment, a first-class key immigrant market town in the Three Gorges reservoir area, a demonstration center town for coordinating urban and rural reform in Chongqing, a central town in Chongqing and a health town in Chongqing. Wuling is located in the southwest of Wanzhou District, at the junction of Wanzhou, Zhongxian and Shizhu counties. Xinxiang Town is across the river in the east, Shibao Town in Zhongxian County in the south, Guocun Town and Longsha Town in the west and Ling Du Town in the north. It is 58 kilometers away from the main city of Wanzhou (Shuanghekou) and 37 kilometers by water. The town covers an area of 80.7 square kilometers, governs 13 administrative villages and 4 neighborhood committees, with a total population of 46,000. The urban built-up area is 2 1 km2, with a permanent population of 22,000. Wuling Town has a long history and profound cultural heritage. It was ruled by counties in ancient times. Dunan County and Yuanyang County were established in the Northern Zhou Dynasty (AD 557), Huaide County and Wuning County were changed in Jiande four years (AD 575), and Wanzhou was merged in Hongwu four years (AD 137 1 year) to establish Wuling Inspection Department. The word "Wuling" is still in use today and enjoys the reputation of "Xiaowan County" in history. There are many sites in China, and Wuling site group is a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit, with more than 20,000 unearthed cultural relics, among which Hanque and Huniu Chiyu Wang are national treasures. Famous artists such as Su Xun, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian and Zhou Wang all wrote poems in Wuling.
