1963, an arrow made of flint was found in the late Paleolithic site of Zhiyu Village, Shuoxian County, China Province. The age of this site is about 28,000 years ago. This discovery proved conclusively that China's ancestors used bows and arrows about 28,000 years ago.

Stelmore bow discovered in Hamburg, Germany in the early 20th century is the earliest and oldest bow ever discovered in the world. Its age is about 8900 BC, thousands of years before the Yellow Emperor. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by war in World War II.
