Development history of Guangxi National Museum
In 2003, the Guangxi Museum for Nationalities started construction, covering an area of about 86,600 square meters, including an exhibition hall of about 8,000 square meters, with an open-air exhibition garden of traditional folk houses in Guangxi of about 40,000 square meters.

In 2003, the government of the autonomous region identified it as a key public cultural facilities construction project, and the project officially started construction in June 2006.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2008, a large-scale exhibition of Guangxi ethnic culture, 10 ASEAN Cultural Exhibition of ASEAN countries, a joint invitation exhibition of five ethnic autonomous regions, a special exhibition of cultural relics in China ethnic autonomous regions and a small personal collection exhibition with distinctive features were exhibited, which can meet the demand of receiving 10 million tourists a year.
