History of revolutionary struggle in port township
The port people have a glorious revolutionary tradition and a history of revolutionary struggle. In the era of revolutionary struggle, the port people made great sacrifices and contributions under the leadership of China * * * Production Party. Especially in the period of the second domestic revolutionary struggle, ports and busy villages belonged to the Red Five District, which was an important area of revolutionary activities in the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi border region. Ying Chao Village in the southwest of the township is the battlefield where the Red Fifth Army defeated the Kuomintang peace preservation corps, and Ruoping in the northwest is the base of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Soviet Area.

From June 65438 to June 0926, Wang Jingming (Wang Jingmin), Li Jiankang and other leaders led farmers in Dankeng, Luofang, Chainsaw, Gangkou and Xiao to establish the "Xiang Chong Farmers Association". That winter, a farmers' representative meeting was held here to preach the articles of association.

During the period of 1928, General Peng led the Red Fifth Army Corps through my hometown, and fought fiercely with peace preservation corps of the local Kuomintang in places such as Rabbit Ridge in Nanliu and Tingziling in Port Village. After the victory of the battle, Peng held a meeting at farmers' homes in Britain and North Korea.

1930, the Soviet government of Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces was stationed in Ruopingshan District of China, and the Soviet government of the county was stationed in the noisy Huang family. In the same year, after the party and government consultations in Tonggu and Xiushui counties, Horizontal Township was placed under the jurisdiction of xiushui county Red Five District, and the Soviet regime in Horizontal Township was established. The Kuomintang and local reactionary forces carried out many "encirclement and suppression" campaigns against the port, and the port people made great sacrifices. Of the 36 tombs of martyrs in Qiping Town, 12 were captured from British Korea, Shang Ping, Sharpin, Nanliu and Noisy. According to incomplete statistics, more than 10,000 people died in the township * * 1 person, and there are some registered port martyrs 1 person.
