Wang Yangming's Historical Evaluation
Wang Yangming, also known as Wang Shouren, was a famous thinker, strategist and a master of psychology in Ming Dynasty. He opposed the idea of taking Confucius and Mencius as a model, and hoped that people would not blindly believe in feudal ethics and morality, and attached great importance to people's subjective initiative, so he had been doing something to lift the shackles of feudal thought on people. It is precisely because of this that he, Confucius and Zeng Guofan were collectively called Liang Qichao? Two and a half saints? Among them, he is the one I don't think is praised.

It is not ordinary people who evaluate Wang Yangming as a saint, but Mr. Liang Qichao, a famous thinker, writer and educator in modern China. In Mr. Liang Qichao's view, in the feudal society, the rest are Confucius, the founder of Confucianism in the Spring and Autumn Period, Zeng Guofan, a famous minister in the Qing Dynasty, and Wang Yangming, a master of psychology. Some people may think that this is an excessive compliment to Wang Yangming. After all, it is inappropriate to compare him with such a great figure as Confucius. But Wang Yangming really deserves the title of saint.

When people mention Wang Yangming, the first thing that comes to mind is his Yangming studies. He was a master of thought in the Ming Dynasty. What does he appreciate? See things with your heart? The impact on future generations is very great. Wang Yangming's theory of mind became a bright gem in China culture in the next few hundred years. The concepts of unity of knowing and doing and conscience have profound functions and significance for us to realize the unity of theory and consciousness. In modern times, Kang Youwei, Sun Yat-sen and others were all influenced by his thoughts, which promoted the development of China's modern history.

Wang Yangming's influence on the development of China is far-reaching, so Mr. Liang Qichao called him a saint, in the same breath as the great Confucius. Their achievements still have an impact on China today. Therefore, the evaluation of Wang Yangming is not excessive praise, but just right.
