According to Shiben, Dialectics of Ancient and Modern Surnames and Compilation of Yuanhe Surnames, there was a learned descendant of the Yellow Emperor in the late Shang Dynasty who was Zhou Wenwang's teacher. His son Wen Wang died young. Great-grandson Xiong Yi took Wang Fu's name as his surname and became Xiong's. Zhou Chengwang enfeoffed the former Wang Hero, established Xiongyi in Jingchu, and established the State of Chu with its capital in Danyang (now southeast of Zigui, Hubei). During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Chu was once powerful, and its influence extended to the Central Plains, becoming one of the five tyrants in the Spring and Autumn Period. In 223 BC, Chu was destroyed in Qin. Most of the descendants take the bear as their surname, which is called Xiong's, and the history says that Xiong's is authentic, that is, Hubei Xiong's.
Have the origin of the Xiong family
A long time ago, in the area of Jishui River in Juzi (southwest of xinzheng city), there lived a Shaodian tribe. The leader of Shaodian tribe is Shaodian. This small size is big and stony, and a strong bow makes a good arrow. It often goes into the deep forest alone with a bow and arrow to shoot birds and animals.
Once, Shao went to the western hills for a long time, only catching a few pheasants and rabbits. Hunters have a rule that they go out for half a day and go back from Sunday to noon. Generally speaking, they don't spend the night in Shan Ye. Shao Dian sat under a big tree, ate some dry food, wanted to have a rest and walked back, and fell asleep unconsciously. In the darkness, he felt something nudge his arm and jumped up in surprise. It turned out to be a big bear standing in front of him.
This bear is simply a big cow, much bigger than the average bear. Hunters all know that this is the leader of the bear, and people call him General Bear, which is rarely seen at ordinary times.
When General Xiong saw Shao Dian awake, he quickly knelt on the ground and kowtowed. Shaodian thought it was begging its prey to satisfy its hunger and picked up a pheasant and threw it to it. It ignored, just kowtowed. When General Xiong saw Shao Dian didn't understand what it meant, he turned to lie on Shao Dian's leg, shook his head and growled softly, signaling Shao Dian to ride on it. Shao Dian saw that General Xiong had done this repeatedly, and his eyes seemed to contain tears. He guessed that he must have something urgent to ask him, so he took a bow and an arrow and rode on General Bear's back.
General Xiong carried Shao Dian on his back, ran a lot of roads in the mountains and entered a gloomy grand canyon, only to gradually slow down. It also trembled all over.
This canyon is full of towering old trees, dense and gloomy, and there is no sun. General Xiong looked around as he walked, as if afraid that something would eat it in one bite.
General Xiong walked slowly for about three or five miles until he came to a flat bluestone and stopped. There is a ginkgo tree next to the bluestone, which is more than ten feet high. General Xiong leaned against the big tree, leaned against the tree, shook his head and let out a cry softly, signaling Shao Dian to climb to the tree.
Shaodian carried a bow and arrow and climbed up the tree trunk. General Xiong stood under the tree and looked up at him. When he climbed to the neck of the tree and stopped, General Xiong shook his head and raised his front palm to the top of the tree to signal him to climb again. Shaodian climbed up again, stopped and rode on a branch. General Xiong walked around the tree, looked at it, knelt down and kowtowed, and left.
The sun went down, and Shaodian stayed in the tree. Nothing happened all night until dawn the next day. Shao Dian saw two lights shining on the flat bluestone. He couldn't see what the monster was. After a while, he saw it was a monster. It was huge and dark, standing there quietly, as if waiting for something.
After a while, it was almost dawn, and a group of bears came out from the other side of the canyon, with more than 100 bears. The one in front is very big. You can see at a glance that it was General Bear who carried him here yesterday and led the bear slowly here.
They lined up in front of the behemoth, lying on the ground together, at the mercy. The beast walked into the bear group, killed two and ate them on the spot. Say that finish, the bears went away trembling.
Shao Dian witnessed this sad scene in Beast, and finally understood General Xiong's mind: he was asked to get rid of this huge beast. He picked up the bow, pulled out the arrow, filled it with arrows, and condescended, hitting three arrows in a row. The beast was hurt and looked around. I don't know where the arrow came from, growling loudly. The trees rattled by the earthquake, like a strong wind.
Shao Dian saw that the three arrows missed the key, so he emerged from the leaves and shouted at the behemoth twice, trying to draw it closer. As soon as the behemoth saw Shaodian, he jumped under the tree and shouted at him. Shaodian quickly drew a full bow and aimed an arrow at the monster's throat. The beast jumped wildly after being shot by an arrow, tossed for a long time, and finally died.
After a while, General Xiong came, walked step by step to the behemoth, touched the body with his claws, and when he learned that it was really dead, he shouted at the sky. In an instant, hundreds of bears ran out of the bottom of the valley. They roared in unison, as if cheering for victory! Sonic canyon stretches for dozens of miles.
After that, the bears knelt down together and kowtowed to the tree. General Xiong went to the tree and knelt down to Shaodian, signaling Shaodian to come down from the tree.
Shao Dian understood, got down from the tree and rode on the bear's back.
General Xiong carried Shao Dian in front, the bears lined up, and then sent Shao Dian back to the tree where he was resting. General Xiong knelt down and kowtowed again, and the bears bowed before leaving.
From then on, Shao Dian became the savior of the bear and made friends with the bear. As long as there is a bear, walk under that big tree and bark like a bear for three times, and a bear will come out to serve him immediately. One year, the wolf tribe living in Jishan (now south of Yuzhou) expanded northward. Clashes with the Shaodian tribe. Shaodian tribe was defeated by Wolf tribe, losing a lot of land and heavy losses. Later, Shao Dian went to the big tree three times to learn bark, and thousands of bears came from the deep mountains and forests. Shaodian took these bears away from the wolf tribe and took back the land. Because bears help Shaodian tribe rebuild their homes, bears are the bravest, so Shaodian renamed Shaodian tribe Bear tribe. People in the bear tribe feel safe with the help of bears and often boast to foreign tribes that "we have bears." Over time, everyone called Shaodian tribe "You Xiong" or "You Xiong". Later, this tribe grew and developed into a bear country, and Shaodian became the monarch of a bear country.
