Yuzhou, located in the middle of Henan Province, is the central city on the southern edge of the Central Plains urban agglomeration. It is located in the transition zone between Funiu Mountain and East Henan Plain, and Heying River runs through the whole territory from west to east.

Yuzhou, known as the first capital of China, is famous for its Jun porcelain culture, Dayu culture and traditional Chinese medicine culture. Historically, it was the capital of Xia Dynasty, the first slave dynasty in China, and the only place of Jun porcelain among the "Five Famous Porcelains" in China. It is also one of the four major distribution centers of Chinese herbal medicines in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and is known as "Summer Capital", "Jundu" and "Medicine Capital". Yuzhou city has developed rapidly in social economy and ranks among the top 100 comprehensive strength in China.
