What does Pingba mean?
Pingba is a municipal district in Anshun City, Guizhou Province.

Pingba, located in the hinterland of central Guizhou, is named after its vast land. It is "a great treasure of Guizhou"-Pingba County contains more than 30 kinds of mineral resources such as coal, bauxite and pyrite, of which 15 have been proved. It is one of the 200 key coal-producing counties in China and an important energy and raw material base in central Guizhou.

Pingba is also the hometown of folk culture and art in China, Tunpu culture in China and China cuisine.

With a total area of 999 square kilometers and a total population of 360,000, the county has jurisdiction over 7 towns, 2 townships (Cross Miao Township and Yangchang Buyi Miao Township), 2 streets and 88 administrative villages (neighborhood committees and communities).

In the 15th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1382), the first post station was named Shazuo Station (now Xiatoupu Village, Pingba County), which gradually showed the important position of Pingba in central Guizhou.

In the 26th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1687), the dam was leveled, and the county was named Anping County, and moved to Anshun House on Guixi Road.
