When the Tang Dynasty was a satrap, Wei Zhi, the prime minister, went down in history because he dared to make faces. However, when Wei Zhi remonstrated with Emperor Taizong, he also paid attention to remonstrance, so that Emperor Taizong could accept his suggestion smoothly. In the tenth year of Zhenguan (636), the queen died and was buried in Zhaoling. Emperor Taizong missed him so much that he built a high platform in the garden and looked at Zhaoling from a distance. One day, Emperor Taizong brought Wei Zhi to the stage and looked forward to it. Wei Zhi looked at it for a long time and said, "My eyes are blurred. I really can't see. " Taizong showed it to him with his finger. Wei Zhi said, "Is this Zhaoling?" Taizong said, "Yes." Wei Zhi said, "I thought your majesty built the high platform to see the tomb of the late emperor, but it is not the case! If it was Zhaoling, I would have seen it. " Emperor Taizong wept bitterly and ordered the demolition of the high platform. (Biography of Wei Zhi in the New Tang Dynasty)
