the Bible

(Bible)

The Bible is a religious classic including Protestantism, Catholicism, Orthodox Church, Judaism and other religions. It consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is a Jewish scripture, and the New Testament is a record of the words, deeds and stories of Jesus Christ and his apostles.

The Old Testament is the main part of Jewish scripture and the first half of Christian Bible. The Christian Old Testament Bible has 39 volumes.

The Greek word for the Bible is bible, which is translated into volumes or books, and also into some kind of books. Holy or not. But the Bible mentioned by Christianity is very profound, referring to the holy book, the record of God's revelation and the book that records God's actions.

The composition and content of the Bible

In the Old Testament, the Bible refers to the records of prophets (Dan. 9.2). Most of the "scripture records" mentioned in the New Testament refer to all or part of the old Testament scriptures (see Mt. 2 1: 42: Gospel of Kyle12:10; Timothy 3 15). Sometimes the New Testament includes not only the Old Testament, but also some letters of the New Testament (see later). 3: 16).

The Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The original text of the Covenant is diatheke. The Old Testament refers to the covenant between God and Moses (see 247 ~ 1 1), and the New Testament refers to the covenant of God's work in Jesus (see Cor. 1). 1 1: 25). The Old Testament and the New Testament became the Bible, which was recognized and used by Christians in the second century. The central message of the whole Bible is the story of God's salvation. The three steps of salvation are the source, method and attribution of salvation. The object of salvation is the people of God, that is, those who believe that Jesus is their Savior. The way of salvation is that God calls his people in his grace and accepts his salvation with faith and obedience.

The whole Bible is about God's covenant with man. The object of this Covenant is the person who makes the Covenant; God is the savior of his own people. The mediator of the Covenant is Jesus Christ, the only son of God.

The Bible is God's special revelation to mankind, and the whole Bible is explaining the truth and facts of God's salvation. Through historical background and facts, the Holy Spirit ensures that the whole Bible is inspired by God, written by prophets and apostles, and is correct and true. The emergence of the church and the redemption of believers are all based on the truth and lessons of the Bible. The information in the whole Bible is enough for us to gain the knowledge of salvation, because it is the revelation of God's grace and salvation.

The authority of the bible

The Bible is inspired by God, and it is also a record of God's special revelation to mankind. People can know the works of God, the salvation of Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit from the Bible. At the same time, we can also understand the origin and end of the universe, the origin and end of human beings, the true meaning and return of life, and the principles and significance of life. The Bible is the masterpiece of God's wisdom and the manifestation of God's life. It records his love, justice, laws and commandments. The persistence and universality, purity and integrity, unity and coherence, truth and certainty of the Bible are eternal, ancient and always new.

The Bible is the yardstick of human belief and life, the refuge of truth and morality, the basis of laws and regulations, and the initial and final answer. It is enough for human beings to understand the eternal power and actions of God, the love and redemption of Jesus, the revelation of the Holy Spirit and the co-workers. So that everyone who trusts in Jesus can gain the wisdom of redemption, become a perfect person and do all kinds of good deeds (see Timothy. 3: 16).

The Bible's self-testimony and internal evidence of truth are enough to establish its own authority, and it has surpassed the tradition and authority of the church since ancient times. All the doctrines and theories of the church can't keep pace with the Bible. The Bible is the foundation of the Christian church and its traditions, laws and ethics. The church was born from the teaching of the Bible, and the Bible was not born from the church. The establishment of the church and the origin of missionary work began with the teaching of the Bible. Hermeneutics and theology, doctrine and dogma should all be based on the Bible. Therefore, if we want to understand the teaching of the Bible, we should use the method of interpreting the Bible as the basis of understanding the truth.

The revelation and authority of the Bible comes not from the tradition of the church or the feelings of believers, but from Jesus' own confirmation and recognition of the Bible. Because Christians firmly believe that the authority and certainty of the Bible coexist with the divinity and eternity of God. He also said that the Bible has become the norm and authority of believers' belief and life because the Holy Spirit has witnessed in the hearts of believers through the revelation of the Bible and affirmed that it is the word of God and the only reliable basis for life.

Internal evidence of the bible

The Bible itself admits that its message is inspired by God. The old New Testament clearly points out that its records were written by the inspiration of God. The accuracy and authority of the Bible are enough for anyone who reads it to know God and gain the wisdom of redemption and the road to eternal life (see 2 Timothy). 3: 15 ~ 17).

First, the old testament evidence:

1. Verification of the Old Testament itself: The Old Testament repeatedly mentioned that God chose some people as spokesmen and outlets of God (see 4: 14, 7: 1). For example, the prophets of the Old Testament were moved by the Spirit of God and wrote what God had revealed (see 3: 7: 34: 16). All this confirms that all the records in the Old Testament are God's words inspired by prophets.

2. Jesus' confirmation of the Old Testament: Jesus himself confirmed that the Old Testament was inspired by God, which was not only correct, but also endowed with the authority of God (see Matt. 4: 7, V:17 ~18; About 10: 35). When Jesus talked about the fact of his resurrection, he quoted the prophecy of the fulfillment of the Messiah in the Old Testament (see Luke 24: 26, 44). He also said that all the facts about Jesus described by the apostles in the New Testament indirectly proved that the prophecy about Jesus in the Old Testament was inspired by God. 15: 3-4, 27-28; After the third reference,15 ~16; The latter one is 2 1).

Second, the evidence of the New Testament:

1. Confirmation of the New Testament itself: The New Testament itself is inspired by God and endowed with its authority and value. 3 16). Since the Old Testament is inspired by God, and we know that the implied views of the Old Testament come from the records of the New Testament, we must also quote that the New Testament itself is also inspired by God, and its authority and values are the same as the Old Testament (Timothy. 3 16). Because from the canon of the New Testament, we can see that the New Testament itself is bound by some principle, and the life of believers is guided by the principles of the Bible. In any case, all these phenomena are the result of God's revelation.

2. From the witness of Jesus himself, we can see that the New Testament is inspired by God. Jesus is both a god and a man. He was moved by the Holy Spirit from time to time, so he could confirm that both the Old Testament and the New Testament were inspired by God. He also said that everything related to revelation came from Jesus himself (Lai1:1~ 2); Jesus himself is the central figure of all revelations in the New Testament (Luke 24: 44; Ephesians II 19 ~ 22).

3. From the letters of the apostles, we can see that they were also moved by the Holy Spirit to write the word of God (1 Cor. 1. 2 12 ~ 13,Jn. 146)。

1. Sketch of the Bible: The Bible is a world literary masterpiece and has been translated into 1829 languages so far, with an annual sales volume of about 30 million copies. Today, more than one billion people regard the Bible as a treasure house of spiritual life and a source of revelation from God. The Bible is a profound and long-standing record, which was conceived through years of reflection on religious life. It records the religious experiences and experiences of prophets, poets, sages, apostles, national heroes and gods. Some people, after the great journey of life, wrote down the sour, sweet, bitter and spicy experiences in life and their profound observations on life, which became the main skeleton of today's Bible.

The Bible is a book about life and a book that points out the way of life. The characters in it are only God, man, life, heaven and earth. Therefore, it is not a science book, a history book, an exhortation book, or any book that we can classify with other works. The Bible is full of ideals and very down-to-earth; It is beyond and practical. Although it is centered on Shinto, it is to carry forward the humanistic spirit; It has many descriptions of the afterlife, but it teaches people how to live in this life. Its wisdom is like the wind in the forest and the music in the wilderness. Simple people hear its call, and people who love life feel its attraction.

This book is about life and death, as well as a person's various changes before death and different fate after death. It has witnessed the rise and fall of a nation many times, praised some successful lives and regretted some failed lives. Everything in it seems to tell us vaguely that a country and a nation have opportunities to rise and fall, and human beings and life also have "variables" of life and death. This is the law set by God at the time of creation, and it is also what we used to call "objective law".

Second, the Bible information: 1, Bible: The original meaning of the English holy book is "holy book". The Bible was originally a Greek book, that is, an English book, but it has to be added with a definite article, which means "that book". In the church tradition, the Bible doesn't have to have a name (just like we don't have to call our father by his first name), because the Bible is a "book", a book in a book, a book of life, and the most important and precious book. The Chinese word "Jing" refers to "the great classics of the world", which is the fundamental way to be a man or "stand in the world" and the model that life should follow. 2. Old Testament and New Testament: The Bible is divided into two parts, the former part is called the Old Testament and the latter part is called the New Testament. Testament refers to the Covenant and contract between man and God. The Old Testament paved the way for the New Testament. 3. The Old Testament originally refers to the contract between God and the Israeli nation in Mount Sinai. The Old Testament records the story before Jesus was born. 4. The New Testament is an eternal covenant made by Jesus Christ for all mankind with his holy blood and holy death, which is called the New Testament. The New Testament records the deeds of Jesus after his birth. 5. Gospel: The four books about the life of Jesus Christ in the New Testament are called "Gospel", and the Gospel is "good news" because the birth of Jesus Christ brought "good news" of salvation to mankind. 6. Book collection: The Bible is not a single book, it includes 46 volumes of the Old Testament and 27 volumes of the New Testament, totaling 73 volumes; It took 1500 years to complete, with countless authors and more than 40 authors. (Because the Bible was passed down by mouth for a long time and then recorded into a book; So there are more "writers" than "recorders". 7. Literary types of the Bible: The Bible is not a history book or a science book, but a "Bible". Just as we can't read Journey to the West from a historical perspective, we can't treat 300 Tang poems with the critical attitude of scientists, and we can't read the Bible from a non-biblical perspective. The literary types of each volume of the Bible are biography, history, law, etiquette, poetry, drama, fable and myth. Because the world mainly reveals the mystery of life through different styles and conveys his plans and information to people. People can only understand the truth of the Bible if they sincerely look for it under the light of God.
