The Historical Evolution of Jiangqiao Town
During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, parts of Jiangqiao Town successively belonged to the State of Wu and the State of Chu. Qin belonged to Huiji County, which was ruled by the Northern and Southern Dynasties for six years (AD 507) and divided into yi county. In the second year of Liang Datong (AD 536), Kunshan County was established in Xinyi County, which successively belonged to Xinyi County and Kunshan County.
