Origin:
There are three main sources: ① from the Levin family. According to Yuanhe's Canon and Garden, Zhuan Xu's grandson Qin Dalian took Wang Fu as his surname. (2) According to the source of surname, Fei Lian (a famous and cheap man, a courtier of Shang Zhouwang) took his word as his surname. (3) from other nationalities. According to Yuan Shi, Lian Xixian was the son of Bruhaige, a Uighur in Yuan Dynasty. At the beginning, Haig met Lian, and Xian was born on the day of his appointment. He said happily, "I heard that it was an official surname in ancient times, but in heaven, Lian was my family's surname." Therefore, all descendants are surnamed Lian; Today, Tujia, Korean and other ethnic groups have even surnames.
Ancestor: Da Lian.
Migration:
Lian has a long history. In the Spring and Autumn Period, there were disciples of Confucius, people from Wei State (now Qixian County, Henan Province), and in the Warring States Period, Zhao State (now Handan, Hebei Province) had a good general Lian Po, indicating that Lian surname had been distributed in Henan and Hebei in the pre-Qin period. Although Lian Po died in Shouchun, Chu (now Anhui), his descendants entered Shanxi and settled in Xiaxian, Shanxi. Later, it gradually flourished, and its surname was Lian Hedong County. In the Western Han Dynasty, Lian Po, his right-handed general, went down in history. He is a martial artist in Shanxi, and Lian Dan, the son of Lian Bao, is a confidant of Wang Mang. He was given a surname, his son settled in Jingzhao Ling Du (now Xi, Shaanxi), and his grandson Fan Lian. Lian moved to the south very early. In the Western Han Dynasty, there was a man named Lian Gong in a town near Tang Huai (now Liuhe North, Jiangsu). It can be seen that Lian had settled in Jiangsu at the latest in the Western Han Dynasty. Tangyi is adjacent to the Yangtze River, namely today's Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces. During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, the descendants of Lian Gongyou moved to these provinces one after another. Born in Hedong County and Jingzhao County, Lian's family gradually spread to the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, Hubei, Hunan and other Jiangnan areas over time. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, Lian gradually spread to Sichuan, Chongqing and other places. During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Lian's family spread more widely, even in Fujian, Guangdong and other provinces. In the early Ming Dynasty, Shanxi Lian family, as one of the surnames of people who moved to Hong Tong, moved to Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Beijing and Tianjin. After the middle of Ming Dynasty, Lian from Fujian and Guangdong coastal areas crossed the Taiwan Province Strait and entered Taiwan Province Province to make a living. During and after the reign of Qing Kang Gan, Lian's family from Shandong, Henan and other places successively went to the northeast provinces. In the next period of the Republic of China, the wider the distribution of Lian surnames, the more Lian surnames will migrate to the southwest. Now Lian surname is widely distributed in China, especially in Henan and other provinces. At present, the population of Lian surname ranks 223rd in China.

According to historical records, Lian is a descendant of Xuanyuan of Huangdi, and his descendant Lian entered Fujian from Shanxi in 836 AD. Lian Xiangde, the son of his tenth grandson Lian Lianjin, took his mother to settle in Changtai from Zhangping County, Longyan in 1449. Later generations respectfully called Lian Lianjin the ancestor of Changtai Kaiji. Since then, the Lian family has flourished in Jiangdu. So far, there are nearly 5000 Lian clan members in the village. Since the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, the Lian family in Jiangdu has moved to Taiwan Province Province. At present, there are six verified and related branches, which are widely distributed in Taibei, Tainan, Chiayi, Yunlin and other places, and celebrities such as Juren Tian Chun, historian Lian Heng, political dignitaries Lian Zhendong and Lien Chan have emerged.
