Pingluo county belongs to the narrow strip around Wuduizi. The Yellow River diverted to the west at 1784, leaving this land on the east bank of the Yellow River. After that, the Governor of Shaanxi and Gansu authorized the local authorities to return Pingluo County and set up a monument as the boundary.
In the 11th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1806), Dengkou area of Alashan Banner was transferred to Pingluo County. 1926, Dengkou was drawn from Pingluo, and Dengkou County was established.
In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), Ningxia Province adjusted the jurisdiction of Ningxia, Ningshuo and Pingluo counties, which originally belonged to nine castles in Pingluo County, such as Changxin, Hong Guang, Dingyi, Khan Lee, Qingshui and Yi Tong, and the western half of Gaorongbao, and was transferred to Ningxia County.
In the 30th year of the Republic of China (194 1), eight townships, namely Baofeng, Huangquqiao, Gaozhuang, Huibei and Lingsha in the north of Pingluo County, were designated to establish Huinong County.
1945, Pingluo county belongs to the third administrative inspector's office of Ningxia. Two months later, the inspection area of the Third Commissioner of Ningxia was revoked and changed to Yin Bei area, and Pingluo County was under its jurisdiction.
1949, Ningxia was liberated, and Pingluo County was directly under Ningxia Province. 1954 Ningxia Province was revoked and merged into Gansu Province, and Yinchuan District was established, and Pingluo County was under the jurisdiction of Yinchuan District.
1958, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was established, Yinchuan District was abolished, and Pingluo County was directly under the jurisdiction of the autonomous region. 1972, Yinbei District was established, and Pingluo County was subordinate to Yinbei District. 1975, Yinbei District was abolished, and Pingluo County was transferred to Shizuishan City.
