1, Lin Xiangru

Lin Xiangru, born and died in an unknown year, is from Xiangru Village, Quyang County, Baoding City. Zhao Shangqing was a famous politician and diplomat of Zhao in the Warring States Period. The most important events in his life were Zhao's innocence, Mianchi meeting and apology.

Lin Xiangru used to be an official of Mr. Scheeren. When Zhao Huiwen was king, King Zhao of Qin wrote to the king of Zhao, wishing to exchange fifteen cities for "harmony". Lin Xiangru was ordered to take "money" to the State of Qin. He argued and responded tactfully, and finally returned to Zhao intact.

In 279 BC, the king of Qin and the king of Zhao met in Mianchi (now Mianchi West, Henan Province). He accompanied Zhao Huiwen, reprimanded the powerful state of Qin face to face, and did not humiliate the country, so that the king of Zhao did not humiliate the country. Because of his merits, he was appointed Shangqing, ranking above Lian Po.

Self-reliant Lian Po refused to accept each other's opinions, felt ashamed and threatened to humiliate each other. Lin Xiangru has always avoided tolerance in order to maintain harmony among the people and prevent foreign enemies from taking advantage of it.

Lin Xiangru's spirit of putting national interests first and humility touched Lian Po, so he personally went to Lin Xiangru's house to offer a humble apology, and the two became awkward friends.

2. Ban Chao

Ban Chao (32 years —— 102) was born in the middle. Fufeng County (now northeast of Xianyang, Shaanxi Province) is a native of Pingling County. The youngest son of Ban Biao, a famous strategist, diplomat and historian in the Eastern Han Dynasty, his eldest brother Ban Gu and his younger sister Ban Zhao are also famous historians.

Ban Chao is ambitious and does not stick to details, but he is respectful and considerate. He is eloquent and well read. Unwilling to copy documents for the imperial court, he joined the army, attacked the northern Xiongnu with Dou Gu, and was ordered to go to the Western Regions.

In the past 31 years, more than 50 countries in the western regions have been recovered, which has made great contributions to the return of the western regions. The official protects the western regions, and the world name is "Ban Dingyuan".

In the 12th year of Yongyuan (100), Ban Chao requested to return to China because of his advanced age. In the 14th year of Yongyuan (102), he arrived in Luoyang and was honored as a captain of the country. Soon after, he died at the age of 7 1. After his death, he was buried in Mangshan, Luoyang.

3. Jess Zhang

Zhang Qian (164- 1 14), a native of Chenggu, Hanzhong (now Chenggu County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province), was an outstanding diplomat, traveler, explorer and pioneer of the Silk Road in the Han Dynasty in China. His hometown is Wang Bo Village, 2 kilometers south of Chenggu County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province.

Zhang Qian is full of pioneering and adventurous spirit. In the second year of Jianyuan (BC 139), he was ordered by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, guided by Gan Fu, and led more than 100 people to the western regions, which opened up the north-south road leading to the western regions in the Han Dynasty, namely the famous Silk Road. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty named him Prince Bo for his exploits.

Historian Sima Qian praised Zhang Qian's mission to the Western Regions as "hollowing out", which means "opening the way".

Zhang Qian is known as a great diplomat and explorer, "the pioneer of the Silk Road", "the first China man who opened his eyes to see the world" and "Columbus of the East".

He spread the civilization of the Central Plains to the Western Regions, introduced the species of blood horse, grape, alfalfa, pomegranate and flax from the western regions to the Central Plains, and promoted the exchanges between eastern and western civilizations.

In the third year of Emperor Gaozu Ding Yuan (before 1 14), Zhang Qian died in Chang 'an, the capital of Dahan, and was buried in his hometown of Hanzhong.

4. Wang Xuance

Wang Xuance, born in an unknown year, was a native of Luoyang, an official and diplomat in the Tang Dynasty, and went to India many times. He used to be the magistrate of Huangshui County in Rongzhou, and later he was promoted to the position of Doctor Chao.

In the fifteenth year of Zhenguan (64 1), India's Middle Tianzhu sent envoys to the Tang Dynasty. In the seventeenth year of Zhenguan (643), Wang Xuance was ordered to serve as an agreement, and followed Li Yibiao to Tianzhu (India).

In the 21st year of Zhenguan (647), Wang Xuance went to India again. At this time, Arona Shun became the new King of Tianzhu, and sent troops to plunder the mission. Wang Xuance dispatched Tubo soldiers and Nipolo soldiers to defeat Zhongtianzhu.

In 657, the second year of Qing Dynasty, Wang Xuance went to India for the third time. During his visit, Wang Xuance also visited Mohe Bordet Base to show his respect.

Although he recorded the stories of these trips, the complete version has long been lost, leaving only a few scattered fragments, such as Fayuan Zhu Lin and Xie Jia local chronicles.

5. Yan Ying

Yan Ying, surnamed Ji and Yan, was a famous politician, thinker and diplomat of Qi in the Spring and Autumn Period.

Yan Ying is the son of Wei Yan, a doctor of Qi State. In the 26th year of Qi (556 BC), he died of illness, and Yan Ying succeeded to the throne as a doctor. He has served as Qi, Zhuang Gong and other officials, assisting the imperial court for more than 50 years. He is famous for his political foresight, diplomatic ability and simple style.

He is clever and eloquent. Assisting in state affairs, he advised the King of Qi many times. He is flexible and principled, and he is not humiliated when he goes abroad, thus safeguarding the national dignity and prestige of Qi.

In the forty-eighth year of Qi Jinggong (500 years ago), Yan Ying died. His thoughts and anecdotes can be found in The Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi.
