Hangzhou West Lake 1 was first recorded by Ban Gu in the Geography of Han Shu (Volume 28) in the Eastern Han Dynasty: "Wulin Mountain is where Wulin water goes. East into the sea, 830 miles. " Wulin Mountain is the general name of the mountains in Lingyin and Tianzhu today. Nanxi and Beixi, which originated here, flow into Jinsha River and eastward into West Lake, which is the largest natural water source of the West Lake. Therefore, the name of Wulin Water is the first recorded name of West Lake.
2. Huizhou West Lake has a long history, which can be traced back to the Northern Song Dynasty at the earliest, so Hangzhou West Lake is earlier.
