Huishan ancient town is one of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. Although its popularity is not high, it has attracted the attention of many tourists with its continuous improvement in recent years, and has been successfully promoted to a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Huishan ancient town has a long history, numerous historical sites, profound cultural heritage and numerous scenic spots to visit.
There is a Jiangnan classical garden hidden in Huishan ancient town, which is as famous as Nanjing Zhanyuan, Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden and Liuyuan. It is one of the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. It is Jichang Garden, which is a must-see spot for traveling to Huishan Ancient Town.
Jichang Garden is a classical garden in Ming Dynasty, located at the eastern foot of Huishan Mountain, adjacent to the Millennium Temple and Huishan Temple, the second spring in the world. Its garden scenery is very beautiful and is deeply loved by tourists. For me, every time I go to Huishan ancient town, I will go to Jichang Garden later.
Jichang Garden, formerly known as Huishan Temple, was acquired by Qin Jin in the early years of Ming Jiajing, and turned into a Jiangnan Garden, named "Gu Feng Villa". After Qin Jin's death, he was changed to his nephew Qin Gui, who was dismissed because his teacher Zhang was hunted down. After returning to his hometown in Wuxi, he sent his feelings to the mountains and rivers, and changed to Gu Feng Villa, taking Wang Xizhi's poem "Taking pleasure in benevolence"
In 1950s, descendants of Qin family donated this garden to the country, which was protected and restored locally. According to historical records, many landscapes were restored, such as Nine Lions Stone, Jiashutang and Neighborhood Pavilion. Now it has become an important part of Huishan ancient town, a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot.
Since ancient times, there have been many literati and emperors who will come here to travel, all of whom are attached to the beautiful scenery of the landscape gardens here. When you walk into Jichang Garden, you can see two plaques on the left-hand wall, namely "Mountain Scenery and Creek Light" in the imperial book of Emperor Kangxi and "Jade-tailed Golden fir" in the imperial book of Emperor Qianlong, which means that it has beautiful scenery and is a treasure trove of geomantic omen.
I have been to Zhanyuan in Nanjing, Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou, Geyuan in Yangzhou, Tuisi Garden in Tongli Ancient Town and other famous classical gardens before, which can be said to have their own characteristics. Although the scenery of Jichang Garden is not the best in my eyes, it is also outstanding, especially the natural mountains, exquisite water, exquisite gardens and ingenious scenery here. This is a must, and it is also the reason why Jichang Garden has become one of the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River.
No wonder Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong visited here many times. After returning to Beijing, they also copied the Humor Garden and Dagong according to the scenery of Jichang Garden. Qianlong also praised Jichang Garden with a poem "All the scenic spots in the south of the Yangtze River, only Huishan Qinyuan is the oldest", which shows its uniqueness.
Walking in the garden, especially in the rain, is easier to blend into the atmosphere. Step by step, step by step, step by step, step by step, stone by stone, makes people feel deeply.
There are many scenic spots in Jichang Garden, among which the more famous ones are the neighboring Van Gogh Pavilion, Beauty Stone, Jinhuiyi, Pan Yu, Zhiyumen, Brick Carved Gatehouse, Qixing Bridge, Bayinjian and Jiushitai. These are all worth savoring.
For the local people living here, this is a good place for leisure and entertainment. Three or five friends sitting in the pavilion, or chatting, or playing chess, or drinking tea, gives people a particularly comfortable feeling.
