Distribution of Zen ancestral court
Cao Dongzong Zuting Cave Mountain, one of the five schools of Zen in China, is located in the northeast of Yifeng County, Jiangxi Province, 47 kilometers away from the county seat. In 857 A.D., the monk Zen Master Shanjia (right) founded Puli Temple here and began to preach his new Zen meaning. Monks from all directions came to learn from the scriptures, and Japanese monk Vashi Nengguang also came here to learn from the scriptures. Benji, a good disciple, is the most authentic. Later, he expounded the meaning of good price in Cao Shan, and founded Cao Dongzong. Liang Jia died in Dongshan in 869 AD. Posthumous title, the emperor of Tang Yizong, was the "Wuben Zen Master" and built the "Huijue Pagoda", so Dongshan Puli Temple became a famous Zen forest in China-Cao Dongzong Ancestral Temple.
