Guangdong Provincial Museum is located at No.2 Zhujiang East Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, in the south of the central area of Zhujiang New Town, the central axis of Guangzhou New Town. 1957 started construction, and 1959 officially opened to the outside world. The foundation stone was laid in June 5438+February 2004, and was completed in June 20 10, with a total area of 67,000 square meters. It is the only provincial comprehensive museum in Guangdong Province and a national first-class museum. The exhibition of Guangdong Provincial Museum takes Guangdong's history, culture, art and nature as three main exhibition directions, and is divided into four parts: history museum, nature museum, art museum and temporary exhibition hall. By the end of February 2009, the collection of Guangdong Provincial Museum had reached166,000 pieces (sets), in addition, the museum also collected more than 654.38+10,000 books and materials.
