The total length of the line is 266 kilometers, the design speed is 200 kilometers per hour, and the total planned investment is about 30 billion yuan.

The second double-walled steel cofferdam is under construction, and it is expected to start hoisting in 20 days. After the two steel cofferdams are launched, they can enter the underwater construction stage.
The bridge belongs to the third bid section of Shenmao Railway. Zhou Xiao, the contractor of the bid section, told the reporter that the bridge started in February last year and is expected to be completed in May 20 17. Because the bridge is located at the mouth of the sea, it is easily affected by typhoon, and the waterway is busy, so the construction is difficult.

The reporter learned at the scene that the bridge belongs to the single-tower cable-stayed bridge with the largest span from Jiangmen to Maoming. After the construction is completed, the bridge will be laid by the end of 20 17 to prepare for the opening of the Shenmao Railway. According to reports, the Shenmao Railway is expected to open to traffic in 20 18, the running time of Guangzhou-Maoming Railway will be shortened from more than 5 hours to about 2.5 hours, and Shenzhen-Maoming will be shortened from nearly 7 hours to less than 3 hours. After Maoming East Station is connected with Maozhan Railway, the running time of Guangzhan Railway will also be shortened by half, while that of Shenzhan Railway will only take 3.5 hours.
