The Historical Origin of Fuzhou Dialect
Fuzhou dialect is spoken in Shiqian, Fuzhou, parts of Ningde and Nanping in eastern Fujian, Youxi County, Sanming and Mazu Islands in Taiwan Province Province (still under the control of China people and Lianjiang county government in Fuzhou). Because Fuzhou people emigrate overseas, they speak it in East Malaysia (Shiwu province in Sarawak is called New Fuzhou, and West Malaysia speaks Fuzhou dialect). Fujian communities in North America, such as the United States and Canada, usually refer to Fuzhou dialect. In addition, many Chinese communities in Argentina, Japan, Europe and Australia mainly use Fuzhou dialect.
