Which is the famous first waterfall in China?
The largest waterfall in China is Huangguoshu Waterfall. Located in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, China, it belongs to Baishui River system downstream of Booker, a tributary of Dabang River, the main stream of Xijiang River in the Pearl River system. It is the largest first-class waterfall in Huangguoshu Waterfall Group and one of the world-famous waterfalls.

The upper reaches of Baishui River are small tributaries under the Pearl River system. It is famous for its huge water potential and is one of the world-famous waterfalls. It is 77.8m high and10/m wide, which is a spectacular waterfall.

Xu Xiake once wrote that water rises from the stream to the stone, like smoke, vigorous and powerful. The so-called bead curtain hook does not roll, and the horse hangs far from the peak, which is not enough to simulate its shape. So far, it has attracted the attention of countless people. I didn't see the scenery, but I heard its voice first. The rushing river flows down from more than 70 meters, slapping the rhinoceros pond, making a deafening sound that can be heard even for miles away.

Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is famous for its "grandeur", has its own uniqueness, that is, water curtain cave hidden in the waterfall. It is located at the height of 40 meters to 47 meters in the Great Waterfall, and consists of six cave windows, five cave halls, three cave springs and six passages.

Walking into water curtain cave is refreshing to moisten the lungs, as if walking into the depths of the earth, listening to the pulse of the earth, and the soul seems to be far away from the world. There are all kinds of stalactites and stalagmites in the cave, but looking out through the water curtain cave, you can see a dynamic rainbow, a forest of Chinese fir and a long path, which is beautiful.

Causes of Huangguoshu Waterfall;

1. The genesis of Huangguoshu Waterfall can be traced back to the Middle Triassic more than 200 million years ago, when a set of extremely thick carbonate rocks were deposited in Huangguoshu area.

2. Later, due to the intermittent uplift of the crust during the Himalayan movement, the erosion datum level of Baishui River decreased, which led to the intensification of erosion and dissolution of the river, and a "crack point" was formed there (due to the uplift of the crust, the decline of the erosion datum level and the influence of structure and lithology, the riverbed took a big turn). The cracks, caves and underground rivers at this crack point are very developed.

3. At first, Baishui River formed a karst erosion crack waterfall. Later, with the intermittent uplift of the crust in the late Late Pleistocene and the gradual enhancement of hydrodynamic force in the warm and humid climate, the top of the waterfall gradually collapsed, and finally Huangguoshu Waterfall appeared, which has a history of 50,000 years.
