Chonburi province is a coastal province in southeast Thailand. Li Wu is a pleasant and diligent city with a population of about 250,000. Most of them are businessmen and craftsmen of all sizes. Most oysters in Thailand are cultivated in Joan Li Wu and its south coast.
Not far from the central area of Li Wu in spring, stands a huge Buddha statue inlaid with gold. This statue belongs to Wat Dhamma Nimitr and is 40 meters high. It is the largest statue in Dongwan and the only statue in Thailand that carves the Buddha statue into a boat. This reminds people of the story of the Buddha going to Pai Salee, a city ravaged by cholera. Through God's call and mercy, the Buddha cured many patients.
