Fuan City is located in the northeast coast of Fujian Province. Geographical coordinates are 26 41'-27 24' north latitude and119 23'-119 51'east longitude. Total area 1794.5 km2. At the end of 2003, the registered population was 607 1 000, including non-agricultural population 1 532. Speak Fuan dialect in eastern Fujian.
