The Historical Evolution of Chongqing
Chongqing is a famous cultural city with a long history. As early as the Neolithic Age, many ethnic tribes lived here. By the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, a powerful slave tribe alliance had been formed here, collectively called "Ba".
From "Ba" to "Chongqing", the name has experienced many historical changes. In the fifth year of King Liang, Qin destroyed Pakistan and established Pakistan. Ba County was renamed Jiangzhou in Han Dynasty. During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, it was renamed Jingzhou, Yizhou, Bazhou and Chuzhou. Because Jialing River was called Yushui in ancient times, Chuzhou was renamed Yuzhou when Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty.
During the Northern Song Dynasty, Dr. Zhao Patent of the Song Dynasty was secretly accused of deliberate rebellion in Yuzhou. The court was worried that "Chongqing" meant "change", so it changed Yuzhou to "change". In the first month of the sixteenth year of Xiaozong, Zhao Wang was crowned King Gong. In February, Zen became emperor, boasting "Double Celebration", so the Duke of Zhou was upgraded to Chongqing.
