Wogan is a late-maturing hybrid citrus variety, which belongs to spring orange and originated in Israel. Wogan in China was imported from South Korea and cultivated by Citrus Research Institute of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In production, orange, red orange, bitter orange and orange can be used as rootstocks, which have graft incompatibility with pomelo, so avoid choosing pomelo as rootstocks.
This variety mainly uses early autumn branches as fruiting mother branches, and the fruiting branches are mostly leafy flowers. Generally, the fruit setting rate in the middle and lower part of the crown is high. It has the characteristics of vigorous growth, less fruit drop in winter, strong fruiting ability and long harvest period. The flesh is tender, juicy and sweet.
Cultivation method of vogan
Wogan is moderately cold-tolerant, suitable for planting in producing areas where the annual average temperature is above 17.5 degrees, and the lowest grade temperature should not be lower than 0 degrees. It is a late-maturing variety, so it needs to leave too many fruits, so it requires high temperature in the planting area. Only when the annual average temperature reaches 20 to 22 degrees, because only when the temperature is enough, the carbohydrates in it can be fully accumulated, and larger fruits and tastes can be obtained.
Wogan can be planted in paddy field and dry land. If it is planted in mountainous areas, the hillside should be below 15 degrees. In addition, Vogan requires water nearby to facilitate irrigation and drainage. Although it has certain drought resistance, drought will also affect the expansion of Wogan, and fertilization also requires the participation of water, so it is very important to have water around Wogan.
