Episode evaluation:
Gunfire in the Plain strives to keep the original plot and bring forth the new at the same time. It not only revealed a little-known revolutionary legend, but also created a controversial Kuomintang officer, and even entrusted a red revolutionary hero, a middle Kuomintang officer and a landlord with extraordinary feelings, as well as the tangled contradiction between the struggle of faith and the revolutionary cause, adding a bit of romantic feelings and contradictions to a main melody melody work.
The protagonist is brilliant. Ma Ying, played by Yong Dong, broke through the image of a revolutionary soldier and became more stereoscopic. He is not only tall, but also looks ordinary, with a little "petty bourgeoisie" sentiment, so it is more real; Su Yisheng, the heroine played by a young actress, has experienced ups and downs. She has firm ideals and beliefs, but she is constantly suspected. She is full of loyal yearning for her feelings, but she can't choose to give up. With her unique understanding and excellent grasp of the characters, she showed the beauty of human nature and impressed the audience deeply.
