Gao Jianli, a historical figure of Yan State.
Gao Jianli, a native of Yan (now Dingxing County, Hebei Province) at the end of the Warring States Period, was a good friend of Jing Ke.

Specializing in percussion instruments (an ancient stringed instrument with a thin neck, round shoulders and thirteen strings), Gao Jianli has a good relationship with Jing Ke. Jing Ke stabbed the king of Qin before he left, and Gao Jianli and Taizi Dan were sent to Yishui. Gao Jianli struck the floor, and Jing Ke sang "The wind is rustling and the water is cold, and the strong man is gone forever". After the Six Kingdoms were destroyed at the end of Qin Dynasty, the king of Qin invited Gao Jianli into the palace to build it for him, because it was so good. But Gao Jianli is a good friend of Jing Ke, and the king of Qin is well prepared. He ordered people to blind Gao Jianli in advance, thinking that Gao Jianli could not assassinate him. But Gao Jianli poured lead into the building, and the king of Qin was fascinated by the song and wanted to kill it. Unfortunately, it failed, so he was killed.
