Participants first reviewed the glorious revolutionary course of the Battle of wei county. The Battle of wei county officially started on April 2nd, 948/KLOC-0. After 25 days of bloody fighting, wei county was conquered on April 27th, the Kuomintang entrenched in wei county and its reinforcements were eliminated, and the liberation regime was established. This campaign wiped out 46,000 Kuomintang members, seized countless enemy weapons and ammunition, liberated 4 100 square kilometers of land with a population of one million, and connected the three liberated areas of Jiaodong, Bohai and Luzhong. The victory of wei county Campaign promoted the liberation of Shandong and even the whole country. Our army successfully took over wei county, which provided valuable experience for taking over large and medium-sized cities in the future. The Battle of wei county was the first tough battle of our army in East China, and it was a great victory after our soldiers and civilians in East China turned into strategic counterattacks. More than 400 soldiers of our army/KLOC-0 died in the battle of wei county, of which more than 600 were unknown martyrs.
