The earliest provincial capital of Gansu
Gansu's earliest provincial capital is Longxi.

Longxi is named after Longxi. Since ancient times, it has been a "country with four blockades" and a battleground for military strategists. After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, Longxi County was established as one of the 36 counties in China. When Zhang Qian, a famous explorer in Han Dynasty, went to the Western Ocean, he built a "Changgong Mansion" in Longxi. Since then, Longxi has been called "Changgong".

Longxi is now a county, located in the southeast of Gansu, in the middle of the Loess Plateau in central Gansu, and belongs to Dingxi City, Gansu Province. Longxi in history is two important coordinates for exploring Longxi culture. Longxi county has been the military and political center of the west since Qin dynasty. A history of Longxi is half a history of Gansu, which has long been the capital of Gansu. At that time, Longxi governed five states and twenty-seven states, including today's Lanzhou, Huining, Guyuan and Longdong, and Shaanxi Longxian, Longnan, Minxian, Lintan, Tianshui and Dingxi.

1655, the Chief Secretary of Gansu Province was established, and the provincial capital was located in Longxi County. 1669 Shaanxi and Gansu were divided, and Gansu Province moved Longxi to Lanzhou.
