The Historical Evolution of Jiazi Town
Jiazi Town is an ancient and developed town in eastern Guangdong. Formerly known as Jiazimen, it is named Jiazimen because there are huge stones standing in the mouth, arranged like doors, which are consistent with the words of sixty Jiazi. The name Jiazi began in the Western Han Dynasty and the Song and Yuan Dynasties. At that time, because of the war, people from Fujian, Chaoshan, Zhongyuan and other places moved here to live, and by the early Ming Dynasty, a large-scale town had been formed. In order to resist the enemy, the Ming Dynasty set up a base in Jiazi. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jiazi's economy flourished, and by the end of the Qing Dynasty, its population had increased to more than 30,000. During the Republic of China, there were districts and towns. The population has increased to 45,000. 1957 After the demarcation of Jiadong and Jiaxi, it was designated as a county-directly-administered town, 1958 was changed to a people's commune, and 1980+00 established a town people's government.
