The site of the ancient city is located 300 meters northeast of Gucheng Village, longhu town, xinzheng city. It is 403 meters long from east to west, 3 19 meters wide from north to south, and covers an area of 125000 square meters. Including Yangshao culture, Longshan culture and Erlitou culture.
In May, 2003, the research and investigation on the origin of Chinese civilization discovered the new Longshan culture and Erlitou culture, and collected pottery fragments such as pots, jars and urns. The cliff of the site exposes a cultural layer of 1~3 meters, where there are ash pits, building foundations, kiln sites, braised clay deposits, etc. It can be seen that pottery fragments and stone tools are scattered on the cultural layer and surface. Among them, there is a phenomenon of atrial basement lamination, and the most is four-layer lamination. The stone tools collected include axes and shovels. Pottery fragments can be identified as pots, cans, urns, bowls, etc. The settlement sites have continued to Longshan culture and Erlitouxia culture.
The site of the ancient city is the residential site of ancestors from Yangshao culture period to Xia Dynasty in Neolithic Age. The cultural remains of the site are very rich, which has very important protection and research value, and provides a basis for studying the cultural inheritance relationship and academic problems of Yangshao, Longshan and Erlitou in Neolithic Age.
