What are the five old streets in Shanghai?
If you can only visit one street in Shanghai, many old Shanghai will take Wu Kang Road as the first choice. It was built by John Calvin Ferguson, an American who was then the inspector of Nanyang Public School. It was named "John Calvin Ferguson Road" and later allocated to the French Concession. The architectural styles here are mostly Spanish and French Renaissance, and the phoenix trees on both sides of the road are swaying, which is full of European customs and adds a sense of tranquility. The movie "color? In The Ring, Mr. Yi, played by Tony Leung Chiu Wai, had a tryst at No.99 Road.

Wu Kang Road is a famous road known as "concentrating the modern history of Shanghai for a hundred years". Many politicians, militarists, industrialists and literati once lived here, leaving 37 historical buildings or celebrities' former residences. Now it's a brand-new place, with cafes and fashion shops scattered around it, so that historical light and shadow can blend with reality.

Yuyuan Road: Yufeng Yuyuan Road behind the garden house is not wide, but it is very long, extending from Jing 'an Temple at the eastern end to Zhongshan Park at the western end. Strolling along this long street, looking at the windows of various boutiques and the deep alleys that occasionally pass by, you may not realize that there is a ups and downs history behind these flowers and trees that exude such a life breath. Countless stories about the turbulent years of the last century are hidden in the depths of these garden houses, silently lost in bricks and tiles, quietly waiting for the hurried steps after a hundred years.

Xinhua Road: When poetry is integrated into daily life, Xinhua Road, formerly known as Anhesi Road, is also in the French Concession, but perhaps because it was close to Hokkeji in the old days, the western-style architecture here seems to have a sense of detachment. Many houses along the street are the works of Hungarian architect Hudac. Towering French phoenix trees stand on both sides of the road. In autumn, leaves rustle under your feet. Xinhua Road has been revitalized, and there are fewer tourists coming and going. Pedestrians are basically nearby residents or young people who come to Shanghai Studios to watch movies. Fresh poetry is thus integrated into daily life, into every morning and evening.

Sinan Road: The "Renaissance" Sinan Road in the old concession, formerly known as Mas South Road, commemorates a French musician. The buildings here almost combine all the architectural styles of old Shanghai, which combine Chinese and western styles. Just like the World Architecture Expo, the essence of Shanghai culture can be seen here. Sinan mansions on Sinan Road has now become a typical representative of this complex, because it has become a unique business district integrating humanities, fashion, history and art, with endless cultural activities, exhibitions and lectures, as if it had brought a "Renaissance" to this old concession.

Yin Shan Road: Following the footsteps of Mr. Lu Xun, Yin Shan Road may not be as famous as the parallel Sweet Love Road and the connected Duolun Road, but it is still a real residential area, full of rich flavor of life. Its bones exude the elegance and tranquility of old Shanghai, and the red bricks tell the story of this block. Even if the prosperity is exhausted, the years are still quiet.
